PHV’s Exempt from Silvertown Tunnel Charge?

by | Feb 3, 2025 | PCO Driver News

It’s official the new Silvertown Tunnel is set to open on 7 April 2025 and with it comes the new toll charge for both the new Silvertown Tunnel and existing Blackwall Tunnel.

The new route options for drivers travelling from south to north will be either to take the Blackwall Tunnel and enter East London and connect to the A12 or they can take the new Silvertown Tunnel which brings them out to near City Airport and the Beckton area.  Which is a great option and reduces the amount of vehicles going through the Blackwall tunnel and then driving across the A13 to get to those areas.

The new tunnel comes with a toll charge as announced by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.  The charges differ depending on the type of vehicle and the time of day you’re travelling.

We’ll first list the cost for cars as the majority of PHV drivers will be using this mode of vehicle.
