Reschedule SERU assessment

As a private hire driver in London who needs to take their SERU assessment, you will be aware that you cannot simply book your SERU assessment appointment by contacting TfL.  You must wait to be invited to take the SERU assessment. 

This can of course create the unfortunate issue of the test falling on a date where you cannot attend your SERU test.  We have found in many cases drivers who have holidays or other appointments booked need to reschedule their SERU assessment.

If you are in this situation and you want to reschedule your SERU assessment, the best way to do it is to contact TfL by calling them on 0343 222 4444.  You can also email TfL to reschedule your SERU assessment by emailing them at tphdriverassessments@tfl.gov.uk

SERU Assessment Cancellation Limit

TfL only allow you to reschedule your SERU assessment once!  This means you must attend the new assessment date, or it will count towards 1 of the 2 chances you get to complete and pass your SERU assessment.

It is important to reschedule your SERU assessment if you cannot attend on the date given.  If you chose to not turn up, you will be wasting 1 of your 2 chances to take the test.  So, it is always better to let TfL know and get a new date, even if this reduces your chances of rescheduling any future dates.

In the instance you cannot make both the dates given for your SERU assessment, it is wise to contact TfL and provide a very good reason for not being able to attend.  Always stay in touch with TfL, explain what happened and you have a better chance of being given the opportunity to take the test on another date.

If you don’t stay in touch with TfL and end up not completing your SERU assessment, you risk losing (or not getting) your Private Hire Driver’s License. 

To have the added confidence in passing your SERU assessment, it is always wise to prepare by taking a SERU course or SERU mock test.
